Zimbabwe’s data protection rules: what your business must do now
The Cyber and Data Protection Act and SI 155 of 2024 require most organisations to be licensed by POTRAZ, appoint a Data Protection Officer and report breaches within 24 hours.

All four are excellent. The right choice depends on your size, your existing network, the skills you have and how you want to manage it.

Most ransomware attacks exploit the same few weaknesses. Close them and you dramatically reduce both the chance and the impact of an attack.

Cybersecurity is the set of people, processes and technology that protect your systems and data from theft, disruption and misuse. A single incident — ransomware, a data leak or a compromised account — can halt operations, trigger regulatory penalties and damage customer trust, so protection is a business continuity issue, not just an IT one. How can my organisation protect its data?
Start with the basics done well: multi‑factor authentication, timely patching, least‑privilege access, encryption of sensitive data, and tested backups kept offline or immutable. We help you classify your data, apply the right controls and prove they work. Learn more about Cryptography & Data Security →
Do you offer 24/7 monitoring?
Yes. Our Managed SecOps and Managed IT services include 24×7 monitoring of endpoints, servers, networks and cloud workloads, with alerting, triage and escalation to agreed response times. Learn more about Managed IT Services →
Can you help prevent ransomware attacks?
No provider can promise zero risk, but we sharply reduce it — hardening, EDR/XDR, patching, email and access controls — and make sure you can recover quickly with immutable backups, key recovery procedures and regularly tested DR runbooks. Learn more about Cybersecurity & Compliance →
Do you provide security audits and assessments?
Yes. We run gap assessments against ISO 27001, NIST and PCI‑DSS, vulnerability assessments and configuration reviews, and deliver a prioritised remediation plan with audit‑ready evidence packs. Learn more about Cybersecurity & Compliance →
Can you train our staff on cyber safety?
Yes. We deliver role‑based security awareness training, phishing simulations, and secure‑coding sessions for developers, with attendance records and maturity scorecards. Learn more about Cybersecurity & Compliance →
How quickly can you respond to incidents?
Response and resolution times are set in your service level agreement and depend on severity and the plan you choose. Critical incidents are escalated immediately under an agreed escalation matrix, and every incident gets a root‑cause report. Learn more about Contact us →
Do you work with on‑prem, hybrid and cloud environments?
Yes. We design, build and operate infrastructure on AWS, Azure, GCP, VMware, Hyper‑V and Proxmox, as well as traditional on‑premises networks — including power‑ and connectivity‑aware designs for local conditions. Learn more about Cloud & Infrastructure Solutions →
IT & security terms, explained simply
The acronyms you'll see on our service pages and in proposals — in plain language.
- SOC
- Security Operations Centre — the team, processes and tools that monitor your systems for threats, ideally around the clock, and respond when something is detected.
- SIEM
- Security Information and Event Management — a platform that collects logs from across your IT environment and correlates them to spot attacks and suspicious behaviour.
- EDR / XDR
- Endpoint (or Extended) Detection and Response — security software on laptops and servers that detects, investigates and stops threats. XDR extends this across email, network and cloud.
- MFA
- Multi‑Factor Authentication — signing in with something you know (a password) plus something you have (a phone app or token). Blocks most account‑takeover attacks.
- PAM
- Privileged Access Management — controls, approves and records the use of administrator accounts, which attackers target first.
- DLP
- Data Loss Prevention — policies and tools that stop sensitive information leaving the organisation by email, USB, cloud upload or other channels.
- RPO / RTO
- Recovery Point Objective is how much data (measured in time) you can afford to lose; Recovery Time Objective is how long you can afford to be down. They drive your backup and DR design.
- Immutable backup
- A backup copy that cannot be changed or deleted for a set period — so ransomware cannot encrypt or erase it.
- Zero Trust
- A security approach of “never trust, always verify”: every user, device and request is authenticated and authorised, whether it comes from inside or outside the network.
- KMS / HSM
- Key Management Service / Hardware Security Module — systems that generate, store and protect the encryption keys that keep your data secret.
- PKI
- Public Key Infrastructure — the certificates and authorities that let systems prove their identity and encrypt traffic (for example, the padlock on websites).
- IaC
- Infrastructure as Code — defining servers, networks and cloud resources in code (e.g. Terraform) so they are built consistently, reviewed and repeatable.
- FinOps
- Cloud financial management — practices and dashboards that make cloud spending visible, accountable and optimised.
- ISO 27001
- The international standard for an Information Security Management System (ISMS) — a structured way to manage security risks, policies and controls.
- PCI‑DSS
- The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard — required security controls for any organisation that stores, processes or transmits card data.
